Seascape creativity by Colin Perini

Creative ways of doing it your way.

Sometimes, don’t you feel overwhelmed by the amount of information available? Well, in truth, you probably need very little of it. If you are pursuing a creative interest, you are better off trusting in your own feelings and your very individual artistic leaning.

It’s not necessary to understand the workings of an engine before you can drive a car. You don’t have to train as a doctor if you want a healthy body. You don’t need color theory and a knowledge of different exotic mediums and techniques before you can be an artist.

Look at what you have right now, around you and express yourself with that. Art is a creative expression right from the beginning. You are free to choose your medium and the way you want to use it. Invent the rules as you go along, there are certainly none at the beginning.

As long as you know what you want to achieve, then go about it in your own unique way. Art is personal. Art is an individual expression, a unique path chosen by the artist. Artistic excellence is not achieved by following the same old worn path from artists of yesterday.

Not only should your art be unique but your technique should be also. Art does not have to be complicated by a need to understand the processes and materials. Art is about self-expression. You are free to do what you want to do because that is how you choose to do it! If somebody disagrees, give them a one-way ticket out of there.

Over and out. Now it’s up to you!
