creative strength

I imagine I am important

Humanity has an extraordinary ability to find patterns in every aspect of life. We can recognise faces and body shapes from afar. We see trends in behaviour. We can predict physical world behaviors by analyzing previous patterns. We recognise familiar events and even see pictures in random occurrences such as cloud movement.

Unfortunately, we don’t seem to know when to stop. We look for omens and give them great value. We conveniently ignore the failure of previous omens to turn to anything useful or meaningful.

We find hints and innuendos in conversation and are quick to take offense at what we imagine has been said. The patterns we uncover are not necessarily true but we still cling to them as if they have personal meaning.

It is easy to walk down the street and find signs from a god or directions given by angels or  symbols arising from a belief in fairies or gnomes or some other fantastical form of life. Humans are very good at finding patterns. These patterns are not necessarily of any value. They can be coincidental, lucky or ominous, it all depends on your imagination.

Regardless of what you think you see, there is no deep and meaningful. There are no secret patterns waiting to be revealed. There is no hidden language of symbols reserved for the few enlightened amongst you. There is simply a 3D screen before you and on this there are an infinite variety of possibilities playing in and out of your mind.

The value of each event is invented by you. You are the one who puts personal interpretations onto the impersonal world as it continues to unfold in unique and unpredictably strange ways.

Deep and meaningful interpretations are just another form of self-indulgent fantasy. Nobody has a spiritual advantage or a holy insights into anything. You only have your own very personal, imaginative interpretation of the patterns of life. They don’t really care how you interpret them as they swirl in and out of your sensual range and in and out of your fertile imagination.

So if you meet a holy person, don’t laugh out loud, because they may be very happy in their deep and meaningful misinterpretation of their imagined patterns of life.
