Ever wondered why monks and other religious fanatics get a look of serenity about them?

Society of course has painted a romantic picture about them being close to perfection or a god or some other mystical, magic power.

Want to know what the true situation is?

They are all brain dead. They are comatose from not living in the real word. They have spent their lives not working, without family responsibilities, not paying taxes or even having to make an effort to get food or clothing.

Put a child in a mind-numbing situation where he is not allowed to think, be an individual or make an effort and you will end up with an idiot.

Reality is not always obvious!

Normal makes me sick

Television, movies, music and magazines all applaud conventional behaviour. Even the ‘radical’ behaviour that they pretend to encourage, demands that the observer still conforms to the rules of ‘outrageous’.

It is not easy to be a non-conformist because you make most people feel very uncomfortable.

As soon as you suggest an idea that is abstract or odd, you are branded as weird, not in a nice way but in a way that would have you outcast from society. People do not like behaviour or ideas that are not sanctioned by the majority. Even rebels – bikies, street people, street gangs etc. all conform to the rules of their breakaway group.

A non-conformist, or true rebel does not need group approval or direction. He/she stands alone. True artists are non-conformists, that’s why they are classed as odd. This is an advantage for an artist, it makes life easy. But… if you are a non-conformist in any other field, it is not quite so easy, then you are classed as weird and it can be very uncomfortable.

It’s not easy being odd but how else are you going to express your uniqueness?

You’ve got a problem and it’s YOU!

The road of life is scattered with sharp bits, stinging things and bad luck. No good complaining about it, that’s just the way this planet is built. You can pretend it is a beautiful world and make associated cooing sounds of wonder and amazement but bad luck and awful things will keep on attacking you. Anyway, on this planet beauty is mainly visual.

In this world the meanest, toughest and fastest get the best bits. The nice people get the leftovers.

So what do you do about it? Well, obviously complaining and crying does not make it any different. Blaming someone else doesn’t seem to help either and your problems won’t go away just by wishing and hoping.

You either toughen up and get to the top of the heap sometimes or you just keep on complaining and keep on trying to avoid the rain of garbage that never stops falling on all of the nice people at the bottom of the hill.

The art of life – not getting swamped by garbage!

I saw a man on his morning walk. He was not thin but he was still walking briskly.

Then I noticed that he was adjusting his belt. He was making it tighter. That proved it! A brisk morning walk makes you lose weight. So unless you want to lose weight and become a skinny weakling… don’t do it!

It’s observations as fickle as this that many people base their life’s convictions upon! Idiots!

Life is much more than that foolish body of yours can ever interpret. Let go of your fickle and trite assumptions and try having no ideas for a while. It may even frighten you as new possibilities seep into that previously biased and limited brain space.

Assume that you know nothing and you are probably right!

After this much experience it is not surprising to learn that he is a very fast painter. Yet, for most people this is not good. In the mind of the public, thanks to the idiots who call themselves critics, a fast painting cannot be a good painting. Of course this is simply jealous stupidity on behalf of the narrow conventional critics who are a long way from being creative themselves.

It is the public that decides what is good art, not an educated idiot! Len’s sales have proven that good art is art that sells.

We take ourselves very seriously, in fact we love to glorify ourselves to the extent that we have become blind to our own foolishness.

Let’s consider one major point. Who destroyed the hills, the sea, the mountains and the plains? Who polluted the oceans and the rivers? We can’t blame the animals or the environment or even the insect world. It was humanity, those self-glorifying idiots who claim to have the evolutionary advantage of intelligence.

We have nothing to be proud of. We have nothing to give to future generations. We take what we can and keep as much of it as we can.

So what do we do about it?

Focus on understanding yourself, your heartfelt drives and motivations, not so much your fantasies and selfish goals. Learn about that mysterious heart of your own being.

It is not good, or holy or enlightened. It is simply a unique, infinite expression of something that is odd, endless and not of this world. At least if you learn about the infinite something that you might be, you will gain a new perspective and not be so stupid… perhaps.

Who’s in charge around here?

It was a sad day yesterday when I realised that every group, every corporation, every government, every family is only an expression of the sum of its members.

I am part of my family, I am not a separate part, I am an integral part. My existence effects the whole of this group. Every group you belong to is effected by your membership.

I thought about this when I saw a local government employee who looked like he had given up to gravity and he was only motivated by the need to get paid. I looked at him and thought, ‘he is just like the business that he is working for’ – it is not interested in anything but its own being.

When you look at any club, school or business you can see it’s character by it’s members. Oh dear! What a disappointment. Humanity on mass is not a pretty sight and I believe that scientists are still waiting for humanity to show the first signs of intelligence.

Stop behaving, act like an idiot!

One of the things that most good-intentioned adults teach their children is… the importance of being sensible. Well.. sometimes you need to smash your sensible adult attitudes so that you can let the idiot in you, take control for a while.

Stop behaving and start creating!

Being sensible is usually guided by what you should do, not what you want to do! This is a terrible restriction and puts a wet blanket over all of your creative projects. Creativity needs to be expressed in an open field, not a toilet cubicle. If you have to, lock your door and pull down the blind so that you can behave like an idiot in private.

At first it seems difficult to break some of the restrictions that you were taught as a child. However, practice makes perfect, start misbehaving a few times and before long you will get very good at it.

Throw paint at the canvas. Scribble all over your paper, knit outrageous statements in your sweaters. Be the idiot that you always dreamed of being. Become the envy of sensible, polite society as they watch your creativity soar to new levels.

Stop being responsible and learn to behave like a lunatic in front of your creative project. Step out onto a limb and let yourself go! Who knows you might be a natural at it.
