Fanatics knocking on my door

At the end of any ordinary day, you might look back and think about what happened. I drove to work. I interacted with people all day. Some offended me, others made me laugh. I bumped the desk with my toe, that really hurt. Someone rang with bad news… etc.
So many events and so many emotions. Every day you experience an amazing array of situations – some subtle, some blunt and confronting. You react according to the many different filters within that you define as your personality.
You have prejudices, biases, fears and desires and they are all bubbling below the surface of your consciousness trying to get your attention, like eager school kids wanting to be the first with the correct answer.
Imagine the difference, if you decided to go through the day by not reacting, by not judging and by not caring what happened or what others thought about you. Your day would be very different. You might even find that things actually work out better.
Emotions cause a lot of confusion. Expectations cause a lot of disappointment. Lack of confidence creates many difficulties. Trying to replace them with a more positive attitude is not easy. However… replacing them with ‘I don’t care’ takes very little effort.
My rough research has shown that ‘I really don’t give a damn’ would probably solve 92.33% of the worlds problems. The other 7.67% is inbuilt into this planet so that you don’t get the impression that you are here on a holiday!
‘I really don’t give a damn’ takes the sting out of many situations. It helps you detach yourself from your automatic responses and gives you time and space to gather your thoughts and to consider your reactions.
It’s easy to follow blind emotional reactions but rarely do they make a situation simpler. Stop, apply a good dose of ‘I really don’t give a damn’ and then see what you feel. Another really fun aspect of this attitude is that it annoys people who imagine that life is really serious and that everything they think, say or do is very important.
There are a variety of excellent situations in which it can be applied:
  • When a fanatic knocks on your door to thrust religious beliefs upon you, liberally apply a dose of ‘I really don’t give a damn’ and watch their frustration. How can they convert someone who just doesn’t care?
  • When a friendly partner loses her cool (not that you did anything wrong), try acting as if ‘I really don’t give a damn’. It is definitely an excellent form of damage control. All of the ridiculously emotional things you might have said disappear into a veil of vagueness. Leaving you safe after the storm has passed.
  • If you are in a meeting and the bullies are getting the best of you, relax into your best pose of ‘I really don’t give a damn’. Let it show and watch them give up on you. Everybody knows that nothing is ever resolved at a meeting, so you have nothing to lose.
There are over 15,600 other situations where it can be used effectively. Please feel free to complete this list in your own time but don’t tell me about it because ‘I really don’t give a damn’. In fact because of this particular attitude, I’m not even going to finish this blog.

Idiots tell lies to the fools

Ancient wisdom… what is that supposed to mean? Does that mean that somewhere a long time ago there were people who were intelligent like we are now? That of course is stupid because the intelligence of the human race has obviously declined. (If a species was intelligent, it would not destroy its own planet in exchange for money).

I am not convinced that ancient wisdom existed. The problem with wisdom is that if you don’t have any, how would you recognise it? We only see what we can comprehend. So the ancient writings that we understand are only restating what we already know, nothing very wise about that.

The wisdom of the ancients is about as meaningful as the wisdom of your government. Imagine if you had to write a book on that!

Boring rehashes of the same old clinical and diluted propaganda are presented as wise, intelligent and practical to us, the gullible public. All corporate bodies issue superficial nothings designed to lull us gullible masses into a belief that the monster really cares about us. These lifeless statements are usually blindly accepted as wisdom, wit or advice.

The idea of wise forefathers is a stupid fantasy fostered by religious and other groups that have an interest in tying your mind to a mythical past. It is easy to make people feel stupid by telling them to follow the superior teachings of some person or group who died a long time ago, (assuming they even existed).

What is wrong with thinking for yourself? What is wrong with letting your mind play with new ideas, thoughts that are unique to you? Entertain thoughts that seem a little foolish at first and often they will open the way to brand new concepts.

By the way, don’t expect anyone to applaud you for your innovative thinking. It will be the opposite, you will be classed as a weirdo if you stop conforming and stop believing the watered-down soup offered as nourishment by the corporate uglies.

Look within your own imagination and invent your own wise words of guidance if you really need any wisdom. Anyway, doesn’t history prove that humans have always been egocentric idiots, completely devoid of wisdom and totally inept at learning from their mistakes?

Our world is built upon a foundation of deceit, greed and dishonesty. Wisdom of the Ancients? Ha! Even if there was any, it would be wasted on us mindless masses and our greedy, visionless leaders!

A creative way to get old

It seems to me that many health products are promoted as promises to achieve health and fitness without the effort. They are a promise of the easy way out. I don’t know about you, but I have found that life on earth requires constant effort and that shortcuts rarely result in the job being done properly.

Not exercising or not eating properly will result in your body reacting with problems, (I’m not medically qualified, but even to me that seems obvious). A few pills are not going to make you fit and healthy.

Not moving and working your body will result in muscular decay. So if I don’t walk, the muscles in my legs and stomach will weaken until they can no longer be relied upon to serve me. So when I get a health problem, it is because I took the shortcut, the easy way. Instead of making my muscles work, I gave them an extended holiday. In the long run, it is obviously a dumb thing to do.

Imagine if someone made you sit in a boring, cramped and empty room day after day, you would soon feel very weak. So it is with your muscles – don’t use them and they start to weaken, they lose form, they get smaller and they start to break down.

Muscles are a result of action, not dreams. (Not true! Muscles can also be a result of chemical injection, but that’s okay if you don’t mind becoming abusive to those around you.) If you want a body that works, you have to work that body!

Maybe your body loves being exercised but you have never pushed it long enough to find out! You will have to talk to it and find out for yourself. Through martial arts, I exercise a lot, some say that makes me an adrenalin junkie, I think that’s probably simply jealousy on their behalf and a weak attempt to justify their own laziness.

So if you want to be creative, imaginative and dynamic, start using that brain muscle or else it also will shrivel up and you will end up with a boring, empty room in your head. Then you will have legs that won’t walk and a head that can’t think, that’s what many think of as old age, I call it laziness.

I would like you to have all of my money… please…

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! Can you believe that people actually believe that old cliche? Well I am certain that people do not actually live by it, but nevertheless many claim to believe in it!
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! Oh sure, I want to be wealthy, so what am I supposed to do? Give all of my possessions to someone else so that they get wealthy?
I want to be happy, I am certain that if I make another person happy at great expense to myself, that will not make me happy.
For years and years, this give or be guilty attitude has been thrust upon the masses by the ruling forces, whether they be institutions, corporations or religions. While the leaders of these groups get wealthier, the trodden-upon are encouraged to feel more guilty and to give what little they have. Somehow us lowly classes have this underlying fantasy that one day it will all come back to us… maybe 10 fold… dreamers!
Actually this is as funny as ‘turn the other cheek’. Oh yeah, I can see it now, someone punched you, so you stand still so that they can punch you again. Rob me now and I will be back later to let you rob me again. Oops! You just smashed into my car? Care to do that again?
There is so much stupidity and impracticality associated with many of these old clichés and yet, they are rarely questioned. What is wrong with humanity? Science has proven that many of them have brains. Perhaps we have not evolved enough to actually use them?
Anyway, I am going to try turn the other cheek and give you all of my money, but if you do not return the favor and do the same for me, I will punch you!
