unexpected creativity

It takes a lot of courage to be true to your heart. When you are true to yourself, you are no longer safe in society. You might rock the boat.  You might be tactless and spoil the mindless games encouraged by institutions and corporations. You become the unwelcome guest.

Trouble is, when you are true to yourself, society marks you as strange, crazy, weird and possibly insane. This is the price of thinking for yourself.

Yet, it is not you who is strange, do you know who the nuts really are?  The nuts are all of those ‘normal people’ who are offended by anything that does not belong to the same old, same old. The nuts are those who pride themselves on being sane and sensible.

Who dares speak their truth from the heart? If you do, you will be mocked but how else are you going to get off the roundabout?

Take the time to think about your life. What do you love, really love doing? What makes you happy…really happy. Understand these things… do them… and you will be classed as a weirdo by society.

Your true essence is your unique character. It is the creative, bold and interesting you. When you can be this creative individual, you can escape the same old, same old.

When a new idea offends you, have a close look at your own ideas, they are probably clichés, borrowed from news articles and advertising blurb.

If you want a better world, then the world, your world, must change.  Before your world can change, your mind needs to change.

Try changing some of your definite views on life. Learn to live with uncertainty. The world will still go on and you may even break out of the prison of your same old, same old mind.

Day after day, they say the same old, same old. Day after day, they do the same old, same old. Who can stop it? Who dares introduce something new? The same old just brings the same old…

Most people live life on a roundabout. Too dizzy to even realize that they are trapped in the same old, same old. Round and round, same old thoughts, same old jokes, same old dreams.

When someone tries to breakaway and steps forward with a new idea, how quickly they are attacked.

Somebody has to break the cycle.  Somebody has to open the window and let the fresh air in.

If you are frustrated by the over and over of your life, it’s up to you to find the courage to change your ways. It’s all up to you.

You are the center of your world. You are the one who built your world around you. You are the one who must make the change.

It is up to you to step forward and speak your truth. Take the chance, be honest. Being trendy or fashionable, does not make you radical or outrageous, it simply secures your position on the roundabout.

Being normal is being a follower, it’s not much fun. Being a creative individual requires imagination and daring. It’s a lot more fun but a lot more risky.

You are on your own when you are true to yourself. When you are not on the roundabout, you are in uncharted territory.

To be continued…

Imagine that you are on a conveyor belt that never stops. It never ever stops and so you can never ever stop. You have to keep on walking, walking, walking. It is like your heartbeat, you cannot stop it, you do not want to stop it, it just goes on, day after day after day.

The conveyor belt that is causing your unceasing action is called time. Your feet are stuck here in this present moment called now, you can lean back in time and you can lean forward in time, but you cannot move your feet out of the present moment. Where you want your head to be is your choice.

Day after day the conveyor belt keeps on traveling and you keep on moving as it passes beneath you. There are many ideas and objects that you collect as your walk continues over the years. Your arms become loaded with many of these things, things you think are important enough to hold on to. These are the possessions that let you feel safe, or successful or any other feeling that appeals to you.

You become so loaded up with these essentials that you cannot see over the top. Your view of life becomes severely limited. Of course over a long time, many of the things you are holding are no longer useful in your life and only through habit and comfort do you keep them.

Most people collect so much around them that they can no longer see what is coming at them. New ideas and opportunities never stop arriving but they are lost to you behind the barrier of your possessions. You cannot see beyond your own belief system.

It is a wonderful feeling to drop a some of your old habits and possessions. It is amazing how clearly this lets you see! Suddenly the world feels fresh and full of bright ideas and opportunities. Maybe, these are the things that unencumbered youth see around them! Maybe this is why they are more courageous and full of confidence about life.

Perhaps as you become older you become blind to opportunities simply because you cannot see for all of the garbage you have accumulated in your head!
